Caroline & Owain got married in a tipi at one of Wales's most beautiful rural venues –fforest in Ceredigion. Featuring camping, decorations homemade by their guests and possibly my favourite proposal story that I’ve read on this blog, here is the whole wonderful day as told by the couple and captured by Welsh photographer Libby Christensen.

The Weekend Celebration

"We decided very early on that this was our celebration, and a celebration of us. Everything about it was homemade, relaxed and comfortable – no dress code, no rules, a basic schedule. We wanted our guests to have a weekend away, which just happened to have a wedding in the middle of it!"

The Location

"The location was magical. The whole weekend was in the middle of the countryside – in a forest, in fields, stone barn converted into a pub. Waking up in our tipi in the morning, with views of open sky and nature, and a log fire burning."

The Venue

"We didn’t look at any venues specifically, but just happened to consider going on a holiday to fforest. It looked like our kind of place for a weekend away, and when we saw they did wedding packages, it was an instant decision that it was there, or nowhere.
The package they offered was amazing – locally sourced food, ethically minded, relaxed atmosphere, complete freedom for customisation, exciting accommodation, and all within a beautiful natural location. What more could you ask for?"
